Modified K4C 1/2" Speeder, possibly 1929: Any Value?
I have a K4C 1/2" drive speeder. The date mark (3rd image) doesn't match anything on my date chart, but I think it might be 1929. The catalog images for 1931 and earlier show the rivet on the drive anvil. The tool has unfortunately been modified by grinding away the end of the anvil on both sides and thus the retention ball. I was about to turn it in to Snap-on for warranty replacement but I decided against it, thinking it might have some collection value to someone. Anybody got an opinion on that?

To me as a collector, it has no value. I doubt seriously if Snap-On will warrantee that speeder because the speeder itself did not fail. You can't modify a tool, then expect snap-On to give you a new one.

The opinion I was seeking was on the collector value of the wrench, which you have given. Thank you. Can anybody put a date on it?

1929. Not much collector value.
