This is a 9/32 ratchet and pretty much standard in most respects other than the pin retainer instead of the usual check ball. According to snapmom the P in the part numbers showed up usually in the industrial catalogs and were usually referred to as power tools.

Date code looks like 1949.
I found this PF-71 a while back it also has the pin and is marked Ford in two places.
