anniversary small plier set

Post by bcedrone »

Hello Folks,
I am new to this forum, but I have collected/ inherited many old tools, quite a few of them Snap-on, and all made in the U.S.A. My Father was a Snap-on dealer and a field-manager back in the 50's. His brother and cousin also worked as dealers for a while.
I used to have a couple of small tools my dad gave me many years ago, and I am trying to track them down. This was some type of anniversary set. It contained a small diagonal cutter (dikes) and a small long nose plier. These were around 4 1/2" long and gold plated, but usable. To this set my father added a set of #5 pliers which were not gold plated. They came in a red leather case about 6" square that had a zipper. I think only the gold tools came in the case and the #5 plier was added. My dad had a couple of these, and he gave me one when I was 16 years old. He may have given some of these out as gifts years ago.Mine got stolen back then. My Mom has the other set, but she is angry with me right now otherwise I would ask her for it.
Are any of you folks familiar with this set ? Any information would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Brand Cedrone
