Please tell me how old my tool box is

I have attached a photo, of a Snap-On tool box that I bought used about 40 years ago. Can any one tell me when it was made and a general idea of its value.

assuming the finish is original, looks to be a K-55-W from early to mid 1940s. if it was repainted and original color was red it would be the K-55-R from the same time period. the K-55-W has a wrinkled finish while the K-55-R has a smooth finish.

Thank you for the information, the finish is a wrinkle grey finish
