INFO needed: 1970 50th Ann. Gold Tool Box?

My Dad bought this tool box and low cabinet new in 1970.... It is Gold and has 50th Ann. badges on it... I called Snap-on, but they had no info on these boxes.... other than a old guy there who had been there for 40 plus years, he remebered the boxes and said they were rare, but no other info....... I was just wondering how many were made, how rare they are, and if they are worth money...not that I would ever sell it.
