3/8 dr socks from the 20s are just hard to find. they were small and thin so I guess many just did not make it this far.
There are at least four different types of 3/8 socks from the 20s. The 27-5/29 cats show five sockets (6 pts).
The 8/29 cat shows 7 twelve pts, 3 eight pts and 5 flex. The 30 cat adds two regular socks 17/32 and 19/32 and two eight points. 7/16 and 1/2.
Well as you know the cats are not always right.
Anyways, if anyone as the zerk sock, post a pic. And if anyone has some trades, I have some extra socks, and need some to fill in a lot of holes.
First: about 27-28 six points. they have offsets. no model numbers. no date codes
Second: unknown dates twelve points. they have offsets. no model numbers no date codes. there is a 17/32 and a 19/32 showed in the pic. this is odd, just cannot figure these out. I do not know how many there are.
Third: about 29. sort of straight sides. no model numbers, but the four smallest have 29 date codes. I do not know how many there are.
Fourth about 29-34/35. Straight sides. model numbers, date codes start in 29 and go at least thru 35. Have large knurls on the top. The three in the pic. have 29 date codes. a odd thing, some of this type have factory holes and some do not, seems random. There are at least nine sizes in this type.
Pic #5. Eight pt sockets. the three small ones have 29 codes. and the two large have 30 codes. These have model numbers and are knurled.
Pic #6. Flex sockets. these have 28 and 29 codes. have model numbers. no knurling. 12 pts.
Pic #7. Chev oil pan sock.

When did Snap on start making their own sockets?

I wonder if the quality of their first sockets was an issue.
