What exactly do I have here?
I bought these two cabinets from a garage sale for $200. The bottom is a KR-558 built in 1971. The top I can't figure out. Looking at past catalogs it looks like it may be from the 50's comparing the handles on the upper cabinet drawers. Both parts are the same color and the inside color matches so they both look like Snap On's. I can't find any stamps on the upper unit that says what it is. Are all Snap On tool cabinets marked regardless of age?
Anyone know what the top is? My real problem is I need a couple of sliders to bring the top back to full life.

I give up it's to late to figure out the pics. I'll have a link or something to high res pics tomorrow.

Re: What exactly do I have here?
This is what I mean by 1950's this 1955 catalog has very similar front and side handles to what I have but I don't see any examples of my configuration. Also I haven't seen any with the split front "cover". Also mine has a logo on it on the lower right side, a circle with lines coming off of it. Anyone seen that before?

Thank you, yes it is. One mystery solved. Somewhere around the early 60's it looks like.snapmom wrote:It is a Huot tool box, u can google it

Now I just have to figure out where to get a slider that will fit or make something that will work. I have one drawer that is not functional. Anyone have any ideas? I might be able to have one made but that would be expensive I'm sure.
BTW I'm going with black for the handles not chrome or silver. Think it will look nice with a red that matches the rolling cabinet.

Go to the garage journal and ask there. is it missing the slider. if it is just bent, you can make a jig and striating it out.
