I have a few 5/8 dr. socks. that have just the size stamped on them. They came with a overstrike set. I also have an almost complete set of 9/32 drive knurled band socks with the MTF logo and the size stamped on them. The smaller sizes have no knurling. Also came with a rotating grip extension in 9/32 dr., identical to the bigger s/o 1/2 dr. ones, but marked with the MTF logo. The knurling on the socks. is identical to the unmarked s/o types. Has anyone ever seen these?
I have a 9/32 set of MTF. The gripper handle and swivel don't seem to come marked MTF from the examples I have seen. Also, my extension doesn't have a rotating grip, it's just machined in.

The sockets look just like early SO midgets, just marked.
I think the general consensus is that these are from the early to mid 20's, although I have no proof. According to Alloy Artifact, "Milwaukee Tool & Forge Company (MTF) was a maker of automotive service tools operating in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from 1917 through the early 1930s".
I have only seen the knurled sockets, so I cant speak to those without, but I usually see a set or two come along each year on the various websites. I have seen this red box before as well, but still not sure if it is original with the MTF sets.
