Ball bearing slides for older Snap Ons

Hey Everyone,
I know someone here has been down this road before.

I have a 1956 KR-377B; the slides are not in the best of shape and looking to retro them for ball bearing slides. In researching suitable slides most require 1/2” side space, these older Snap Ons don’t have that much and require slides that are 7/16”, .44 or 11mm.

Anybody done this before and can recommend a ball bearing slide?

Thanks!

i had a couple of customers several years ago that insisted that they could make it work -they were wrong the ball bearing slides are just to thick to fit, the drawers we all bound up and harder to open than they were with the slides. all they accomplished was to devalue their boxes and they ended up trading them in and I put slides back in them to be able to sell them.

Hey Snapy,
Thanks for the reply!

Your correct, there is just not enough room for a 1/2" thick slider. A .44 Accuride would probably work, but they are only 3/4 way extension.

Maybe you can help me out with replacement parts? Sometime in the past someone gave this box some love and replaced a slide on a drawer, the number on the replacement drawer slide is - 8-948. I can't find any numbers on the cabinet part slide or the slider in between the two.

Thanks!
