Blue Point XD2022 Wrench

I picked up this wrench today, it has a Pat No. of 1424069 8, is this from 1938?

Its possible, I have some with a 1 on the end, but they do not look like date codes.

The last digit is confusing. The other "date codes" I've seen are offset and don't look like the other Pat No. letters?
