Tool Box K5A

Post by macother »

This is a later version, made like the other Red Caps. Distinguished from the K5 earlier version by it's rounded corners on the top, a lock instead of a hasp, a jointed stay bar with the elbow folding up, and it lacks the welded on bottom plate. It's also lighter by a few pounds, evidence of de-contenting even in those days.

i had a great day at the swap meet. i picked up a Snap-on 1940s (1941-1946) K-55W Grey Tool Chest (Kennedy style). and, there were goodies inside the box that came with the deal.
