I was a mechanic working on VWs and Porsches in the 60's and 70's. I would love to fill out some of my metric wrench sets. I've been searching Ebay, and don't find anything quite the same. Here is an example
The wrenches I see on Ebay don't have the same finish, they are missing the letter code (Z, whatever that means) and they are missing "MM" next to the size. Would love to find some more to match this one. I have only three of them: 30/32, 24/27 and 17/19. Am I crazy to even look for these, or are they out there?

The Z is a date code. 1962. Not to many 60s MM tools out there, you will have to set up a saved search for them. I am trying to put together a Blue Point metric set. Have not finished, but do have a few.

Thanks for that information. I'll start looking. Unfortunately, Snap-On in later years used the same tool identifier, VSM, for another series of wrenches called 4-way open ended wrenches, and most of the listings are for that series.

Are there any snap-on dealers on the web that sell vintage snap-on like these?

Not that I know of.

i find most of my Snap-on and Blue-Point hand tools at an OldSchool swap meet i attend regularly. when seeking a specific tool, ebay is the best source for quick results and frequently the price will reflect this.
