IT was my understanding that the reason Snap-On put tohse date codes on their tools was to track their 5 year warranty they offered at the time. Not sure when they went to the lifetime warranty, but the last date code sheeet I saw was good for another 11 years or so; might've even been the one on this forum. Sold the ratchet to my boss for like $25 and he's happy. Went to a home where it would get used and not sit in a collector's s box.
