Are the Hex Driver Bits in Hex Bit Sockets held in place with metal dowels?
I have a 3/8" Drive Metric 4 mm Standard Hex Bit Socket Driver, FAM4A, and would like to replace the 4 mm Standard Hex Driver Bit, FAME2.
Just wondering how to drive the small diameter metal dowel out. Are they directional?
Thanks for any suggestions.

I do not think you can get replacements anymore, so, I think SO just sends you a whole new one. give them a call, they will usually warrant them.

To remove the pin, you need a roll pin punch 1/8", just drive it out with a small hammer.

Thanks very much for your quick reply Snapmom.
I'll give the 1/8" punch a try.

Re: Bit Replacement for Hex Bit Socket Drivers
The replacement from Snap On will come with an indented punch on two sides that get tapped in with a hammer, they do not use the roll pins anymore but the new bits fit and stay in the old sockets. If I remember right if you have to buy the bits, all Snap On bits are $10 unless you get it warranted, I bought spares of common ones and replace them myself and just get the broken one warranted.
