S-71 ratchet

Post by daviddiag »

Hey gang, just saw a S-71 on ebay with G stamp. I know G is for Government Production, but I don't see S-71 in examples on this sight. Am I missing it? I am the new guy, and gotta find my way around here. There is no hole in the handle in the ebay piece. What is the S for?
Thanks, be patient with me. I am an old guy with a LOT of Snap-On stuff, trying to figure out forums. :D

The "S" was in use as early as 1923, but I think it was first used on a rat in the 40s. I think the S-71 was not made untill about 1970 or so.. sometimes some date codes look the same. Post the item number, so we can take a look.

Thanks, Snapmom. I will get better at this forum stuff. After I posted I saw the 1 and realized the G was not the date code. I looked for GS-71 and found it. Thanks some more...
