It looks like a date code after USA but a mirror image. -49, -56 or just a filling in cast... any ideas ?
These are nr.65 "Aviator" pliers (well, allready called Light Weight Grippers or something else during this time).

It looks like the 1949 "9" stamped backwards to me.

Thanks for your opinion. I don´t have any other Vacuum Grip pliers so I can´t compare
it to anything else in range yet
