Blue Point Body Hammers

Post by case »

Thanks SnapMom for the Blue Point hammer topic. I found the BF611 on the left about 3 years ago at a flea for $5 and have been looking diligently everywhere for similarly marked ones since without success. The red tipped handle apparently dates from 1946 or 1947 or so and has no mention of Snap-On although it may have had a decal of which there is no trace. It also has a heavy coat of clear varnish. The BF615 on the right is late 40's or early 50's and has a unvarnished blond handle stamped "A Snap-On Product". I painted it's handle red to match the BF611. The octagonal wood handle on BP hammers wasn't stained the dark brown until the mid 50's as I had a1957 marked hammer so colored.
