Refrigeration. Socket set
I came across this refrigeration socket set looks like mid 40s. The ratchet is an early one that i have had for a while.Box looks like same one from 30s but is red. Just wondering when snap on started painting these boxes red. I have never seen an early one but assume they were dark grey.

Re: Refrigeration. Socket set
There is a set in the 1937 catalog that looks like this. They call it a refrigeration set. The box is a 14b. This one is later, but same box and sockets near as i can tell. Probably came with r70 ratchet.

Re: Refrigeration. Socket set
After a bit more checking, it appears the earlier sets from the 30s used 9/32 drive sockets as well as the earlier f70 style ratchet. This set dates to 1947 48 by the date code stamps. The sockets are the same except they are 1/4 drive. They ratchet is the r70 instead of the earlier f70. The box appears to be the same as the earlier ones, just not sure about color. If anyone has an earlier version I would enjoy a pic.

Re: Refrigeration. Socket set
Very interesting. I see there was an even earlier version of the box.
