IP 563 ID question

Post by Frank Murch »

Here is another email I would like to share with you

Dear Mr. Murch,

Hello. You have a lovely and informative website. Would you be willing to help me identify some sockets that I cannot easily identify from Google searches. I'd be able to send you photos and model numbers.

Attached is a photo of an IP 563. I am having difficulty identifying the "IP" Model. It is six point, one-inch drive, 1 3/4 inches.

Thanks so much for you help.

Sincerely,

XXXXXX

Thank you for the kind comments. I think I can help

These “IP series” sockets are big. They were sold into industrial applications from 1947 through 1970 and beyond.

I really focus on pre 1970 tools, but the logo style you have was used into the 1990s

I would say you have a set of factory (Industrial) sockets, likely from the 1980s

The link will help to size them

If you have a picture of the whole set - I would like it for the web site
