snap onclutch alignment set

Post by tsmith1 »

I have a clutch alignment set that came from my wifes father. it is a snap on clutch alignment tool set A-37-A. I really have no use for it and really don't know what it does or how it works. it seems complete in the red metal case. is it worth anything???? I would post a picture but I don't know how. Thank you for any help

I can tell you it is in the 1950 Catalog on page 81. So there is a good description

As for value - I would be interested in what others say.

These types of thing vary a lot. As a tool, it is pretty obsolete and it is not a “general” use tool. A Vacuum Grip piston grove cleaner is in the same situation and it goes extremely high.

On the other hand it is not uniquely shaped or visually desired – that can make the market very narrow and depress the price

I saw $150 to $200 online. I don't know if this is realistic or not

Not to much, these are not old, but do have some demand, best bet would be ebay.

Clutch alignment tool set is still useful to mechanics to this day. Automotive clutches haven't changed much in design in many decades.

Your best bet is ebay and craigslist, sell it to a mechanic.
