Nut Spinner Speeders 1931-1948 1/2 dr.

Post by snapmom »

There were at least four 1/2 drive nut spinner speeders made between 31-48.
They were all about 17-1/2 inches long with a 2-3/4 inch throw.
First (bottom picture) Model NS4. This model does not show up in any cat that I know of. Date code 1931. This and the 4S have a ball for the click stop in the head with a hole for oil. The NS4 has "pat applied for" in the shaft of the head. This and the 4S have the outside slots in the head that fit over the shaft. Both have a sort of round end on the handle.
Second from bottom. Model 4S. date code 1932. Cats 31-33. Has the words "Nut Spinner" on the shaft. does not have pat applied for.
Third. Model 4SA. Date code. 1936. Cats 36-38. The head has switched to a inside fit. The head has groves with a piece of formed metal that fits into the opening at the top of the shaft that acts as a sort of spring, it clips in, you can see it in the pic.. The end of the handle is sort of flat.
Top. Model NS-4C. Date code 1942. Cats 39-48. Has the internal ball in the head. Has pat. numbers on the shaft..
