1936 MasterMech Cabinet

Post by snapmom »

A rare MasterMech tool box. Would date to 1936. Collectors have been searching for one of the 30s master boxes like this for years. One reason its hard to find is that it has no decals or emblems, nor anything that says Snap on.
I was ill prepared for this one, have never been a big collector of late 30s tools, and you can see from the photos I have a lot to go before I get the tools that fit this box.

I assume the small box is 1/4 dr and the box on the back of the door is 3/8dr?

The small box is 9/32 and the ferret box is 3/8. This box has 3/4, 1/2, 3/8 and 9/32. 1/4 dr was not available until the mid 40s, with exception to the 1/4 dr rat.

I think factory. It was mounted on a wall. I wish it had the tools.
