During the war RR engines were used in some US planes, (P-51 Mustang) There was a tool kit made for the maintance of these engines, mostly whitworth tools. The kit was a AT-9211. There were several tool makers who made tools for this kit.
Blue Point and Snap on had several pieces. Below are a few of them. The socket has the Snap on name, but the other tools do not. You can ID the Blue Point from the woex-*** model numbers. An the ratchet has the G date code.
I see the markings on the tools, but how do you know what these markings mean?? It seems there should be a key for the military tools, but have not seen any
Hi there, I have a tappet adjuster with at-8022 on it a couple of wrenches have that to and 2-3 ratchets of mine have it, some wrenches with the code you shown and the odd socket that just has at-8022 and no other markings they was out of the same box as the tappet adjuster. I had always wondered if they was for tool kits now I kind of know what if you want pictures let me know.
Hia again my ratchets actually have at-8022, one of my wrenches has at-8007 and also says woex100 that ones a combination spanner, another says w10 maybe WIO hard to read and just after that two little marks could be 11 might not be related not sure that one was a open ended spanner, another one now this is a ring spanner says at-8050 and an open ended spanner says at-8049 the tappet adjuster and socket both say at-8027, any info on any of them? Thanks
Nice collection. The W10 is a W1011. The 8027 socket should fit on the valve adjuster. All the AT**** tools were part of sets used in the war. I have not seen the 8049 and 8050, if you are interested in trading these two, let me know.
Yeah the socket fits the tappet adjuster, I don't really want to let them go but if I find more I will pick them up for you so I will look out for some, any idea what them two was part of? as in what set? do you have any pictures of your tappet adjuster iv seen a few different style ones thanks
