how can you tell if it a snapon RC 500 my husband has had it back in the60 can not find a name or a # , have pitcure

Snap On OEMed this tool from the “All Power Manufacturing Co” of LA California. They are still in business in Santa Fe Springs, an area of LA that is still industrial

Some are marked “All Power”, some are marked “Blue Point” and others have no mark at all

Snap On was not the exclusive sales source for these, but because there is no difference between the Snap on and the other sources, there is no way to tell

It is worth $20-40 and it is a nice tool. It has a good family history, so – in the end – it really does not matter
