Odd socket with a 32 date code.

Its a six point tapered, stamped 19/32 with two 32 date codes. No snap on name or model number. The 19/32 is stamped in the same manner as a strikeover. These odd balls just drive me nuts.

I would love to see a Milwaukee Tool & Forge catalog. I understand these are from Milwaukee Tool & Forge (MTF). I wonder if they were using the same date stamps?

MTF tools look very much like SO, but there were no date codes on any MTF tools I have seen.

do you think it could be an early socket made before the overstrikes began and then sold by a salesman and stamped when he delivered it?

i do have a set of sockets that i got with my 4 pinch handles that are about half overstrike and half no marks other than size and are obviously the same manufacturer

I have several sockets with just the size. Hard to find them. Does anyone have any two pinch tools?

Even though the socket would have had sat in inventory for almost 10 years or so in this case, I think this is the most likely scenario.

Is this a hand stamp? If they hand stamped the tools, why are there double and triple date codes?

Thought that I would throw these items I found from a old barn find. Thanks to Snapmom on identifying the ratchet as a 20-305/8" drive model. From the pictures Lto R on the sockets-first two are marked MTF and look to be nickel plated 3/4" drive models-balance are only marked w/size and 180 degree on reverse are clearly marked w/s/o stamped over markings-also these are steel finish & are 5/8" drive models. No date codes at all! The last one on the right end clearly has MTF-instead of the stamp/over mark! The one lone socket on the ratchet beam is marked as NO. 260 snap-on underlined-no date code and 13/16--1/2" drive x 6 point. The socket adapter is a 1/2" drive to 5/8" drive. I'm sure more of this will appear in the future.
Does anyone think that MTF was consumed by Snappy in their quest to become the biggest & best in tools-like Stanley?? Cranky
