Warranty on the road?

This is my first post on the site so hello to all. I am a recent transfer to field service work for my company and am no longer in direct contact with my Snap On dealer. Has anyone had difficulties in getting tool warranty assistance from Snap On themselves? Would I need to contact the company through the website or phone? A further question for those with more experience than myself, I have purchased some Snap On tools that are no longer in production and was wondering what they do for warranty on things of that nature (if anything)?

stop by any tire shop or dealership in the town you are visiting, most mechanics and service writers will have the number to the local snap on guy. they normally have a cell on their truck. it has worked for me.

I've ran into several guys on the truck that won't warranty things if you don't buy from them. I don't think it's right but I have ran into it.
