7/8” drive

7/8 drive

Designed for maintenance of huge machines like mills, power plants, mine machinery road building such as huge trucks, crushers, scrapers and dredgers. They are Giant Snap ons and are referred to as – Giant. They seem to have appeared very quickly making the 9/32, ½, 5/8 and this 7/8 drive the standards. The 9/32 was replaced with the ¼ inch drive and this seems to have been dropped in favor of the One inch drive. These are not listed in 1924, but are listed in 1925, they existed in 1927, but not in 1931. So the likely dates are 1925-1928, 9 or 1930?.
