The 9/32 Boxes
9/32 Sets
The pieces are constantly arranged into boxed sets, these boxes changed over time. These changes can help date a set of tools. In the boxes, there are a number of types
- 1925 – There is a hinged set with a center catch – there is a catalog picture, but no known examples
- 1926-1928? – There is a box with an inside clasp, painted black. This appears to be a transition box
- 1928? – 1930s – Then a black box with out any embossed name
- 1931-1933? Then a black box with an embossed name
- 1933- 1945 and beyond – Then a green box with an embossed name
1926-1928? – There is a box with an inside clasp, painted black. This appears to be a transition box
The next set is rare, but there are several around and existed from 1928? to the early 1930s. It had a label on the inside and was painted black. Also shown are 2 more boxes with the original decals on the inside and outside of the box. I think the inside sticker was the 1928 – mid 1930s and the outside decal was later – not sure.
